In false color THEMIS images at high latitudes ice/frost will typically appear as bright blue in color; dust mantled ice will appear in tones of red/orange.

This image of shows a cross sectional view of the ice layers. Note the subtle peach banding on the left side of the image. The time variation that the bands represent is not yet understood. Small dunes are present on the right side of the image.
