The high canyon walls of Valles Marineris make for a striking 3-D THEMIS image. Geologic materials that are more resistant to erosion produce cliff forming units while landslides and streaks are observed on slope units. Several dust avalanches are observed in the top of the image. The linear ripple-like pattern seen on some of the slopes may be sand dunes.
